The problem

Magic Tech Mongolia is a technology and unmanned-retail company founded in 2021.

• It runs around 2,000 self-service machines across Ulaanbaatar under the Magic Store, Magic Ice and Magic Drink brands, roughly 500 of them food machines that are restocked and quality-checked every day.
• A fleet that size is run remotely: a vending management system (VMS), adapted to local payment systems, tracks stock, sales and machine state in real time.

What I built

I worked on the parts of that system closest to the machines and the people who run them:

• back-office features for Magic Store; the machine app and its Bonum POS card payments; the machine-side flow and reporting for the drinks machines; and a hot food machine app written from scratch.
• I am now working on the software for Edu Milk, the new line for schools.
• Each part has its own sub-project below.

What it changed

Together these parts cover a sale from end to end:

• the customer chooses and pays by card at an unattended machine, the machine dispenses and reports back, and operators see stock, sales and machine state in one management system.
